With several team members injured, Twig once entered a game as a relief pitcher. He went two and two-third innings with one hit, a walk and two strikeouts (including the league's leading home run hitter). "If there was such a thing as a save back then, I got one," he says. The 1964 Geneva team finished 79-51, just out of first place; the '65 team went 65-61.
